Sent 2025-01-09: Part of the Minutes from the Directors Portion of the "Residents & Directors" Mtg, held on Jan 7, 2025 -
New Business: Nominating Committee Chairperson, Joanne Anderson, advised of 4 nominees for the upcoming election: Pat Heinerikson, Gay Paxton, Tom Perrier, and Lisa Seiser These nominees were validated by Secretary Davis. President Kennedy asked for any nominations from the floor, three times. None were made.

This is a VERY IMPORTANT message to those owners entitled to vote in elections.
Our Bylaws provide,…”There shall be two required meetings of the Board of Directors…. One immediately following the Annual Membership Meeting” and….” the other one shall be held during the first full week in January preceding the Annual Meeting."
Our Meeting of Residents & Directors will be next Tuesday, January 7th at 1 p.m. At this meeting you will be introduced to those people who have agreed to become nominees on the next Board of Directors. Currently they are Tom Perrier, Pat Heinerikson and Gay Paxton. We have openings for four positions. Nominations may be made from the floor at that meeting. The person being nominated must have agreed first to being nominated.
On a personal note, I have served often on the Board and can tell you there is satisfaction in serving and having a voice in moving the community forward. If you have a particular talent or interest, I urge you to come forward. Without an active and productive Board our community will not thrive as it is now.
Plan to come for the tacos, attend the meeting and then stay for the residents meeting that will include introduction of our employees and club reports.

CORRECTION
The 2025 SEPO Board Nomination Committee, consisting of Joanne Anderson (Chairperson), Patricia Lay and Kasey Cassem, are pleased to submit the following Candidate names, in alphabetic order, for the 2025 SEPO Board of Directors election. All Candidates have been interviewed by one or more Nominating Committee members and were considered by this Committee for nomination based upon their responses to the questions asked of them. You will be receiving their BIOs soon.
During the January 2025 SEPO "Residents & Directors" meeting the Nominating Committee will move that the SEPO Board place the names of these nominees on the 2025 ballot.

If you have any interest at all and would like to be considered as a candidate, please contact anyone on the Nominating Committee prior to the 1 PM, January 7, 2025 SEPO “Residents & Directors” meeting.
Floor nominations will also be accepted during this January meeting. Anyone who is nominated from the Floor must have previously agreed to be nominated.

Board members are important to keep our SEPO Community successful and running smoothly, with your strengths and new ideas. You do not have to reside here full-time, but you need to be a home owner.

We have met and are in the process of locating talented SEPO Homeowner volunteers who would like to serve on the SEPO Board of Directors or who would be willing to assist the Secretary or Treasurer in their positions. Experience and willingness to learn and grow is a plus for homeowners (or their spouses) wishing to volunteer.
We need to fill four of the current Board members' positions whose terms are ending in February 2025.
There are a total of seven positions that make up the SEPO Board and they are:

Officers: President, Secretary and Treasurer

Director Golf Course
-
Director Common Area 1 (SEPO Buildings)

Director Common Area 2 (Streets, Drainage & Irrigation Ditches and Texas Ave)

Director Common Area 3 (Storage & Shop Area, Tennis/Shuffleboard).
Who ends up holding each of these positions is determined at the required Organizational Meeting held immediately following the Annual Meeting in February each year. This means a Board member may hold a position this year but may not necessarily retain that position during their second year. It’s up to the Board members to make this determination amongst themselves.
If you are undetermined as to whether you would like to serve on the SEPO Board, please ask yourself the following:

Do you have ideas about how your community can be managed more efficiently?

Would you like to become more involved in your HOA's daily operation?

Do you have the time, dedication, and enthusiasm to regularly volunteer your skills for the benefit of your community?
If you would like to be considered as a SEPO Board Candidate, please contact any Nominating Committee member to set up an interview. If you know a homeowner (or their spouse) who you think would make a valuable Board member, please contact the Nominating Committee.
